Before I knew a pandemic would soon ensue, I had the brilliant idea to leave my 9-5 and ‘do my own thing’. Enter Cotta Studio, a brainchild that found it’s footing in content that emphasized social consciousness—in the thick of a reenergized movement for change.

Following the 2020 George Floyd protests, my clientele expanded to include brands seeking to take a stand and launch impactful campaigns. This led to WWD approaching me for insights on how companies can effectively diversify their workforce.

COTTA x Ipsy

In 2020, Ipsy hired my consultancy, COTTA, to amplify Black beauty voices during the protests. I named and developed their #BeautyThroughTheBlackLens campaign, creating social posts, blogs, and an email addressing their stance. For Pride Month, I hired a trans-identifying copy editor to highlight trans and non-binary activists of color.
